Life's  Greatest Decision

What is the greatest decision one can ever make in life?  Is it your career, marriage, buying a home, investments, retirement or life insurance, or none of these?  About two-thousand years ago, the people of Israel had to make an important decision.  Jesus and His disciples went out to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane, it was there He was arrested by a great multitude sent by the chief priests, the scribes and the elders (See Mark 14:43).

Jesus was tried and found guilty of blasphemy by the high priest and the Sanhedrin counsel; He was then taken before Pontiff Pilate.  The Bible said, ?Now at that feast the governor was willing to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.  There was a prisoner named Barabbas who had committed murder.  Pilate brought forth Barabbas and Jesus, and asked the people whom should he release Barabbas or Jesus; and the people cried out Barabbas.  Pilate then asked what shall I do with Jesus which is called Christ.  And the people said let Him be crucified (Mathew 27:11-26).

Jesus was beaten and He went out of Jerusalem carrying His cross to a hill call Golgotha, there they crucified Him between two criminals.  On that day, the sun refused to shine.  The Bible said there was darkness over all the land from the sixth to the ninth hour.   Yes, my Lord died and was buried, but the story doesn?t end there; He rose from the grave on the third day and is now seated at the right hand of the Father.  ?God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  Jesus shed His precious blood for the sin of the world.  Over two-thousand years ago the people made the wrong decision by rejecting Jesus as their Lord and Savior; don?t make the same mistake.  If you have not already done so, believe on the Lord Jesus, repent of your sins, ask Jesus to be your Savior and Lord, be willing to change your sinful ways, and receive eternal life.

Barabbas, represent the world system with all its wealth, its pleasures and power.  To choose the way of the world is to turn your back on God and His set of rules and regulations.  On the other side of the coin, Jesus represent salvation and all of it benefits; such as forgiveness of sins, removal of the burden of guilt, receive the abundant life and eternal life in heaven.  The question asked by Pilate, ?What shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ? is the very same question all of us must answer.  If you chose the World?s way of life, you automatically reject Jesus. If you reject Jesus, you must be prepared to spend eternity in hell, because Jesus is the only way to Heaven.  Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man come to the Father, but by me." (John 14:6 KJV)

Make the right choice today and choose Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord; you may  not get a second chance to choose.  Life is short, death is certain, and eternity is forever.
