Have you ever heard people say that you will go to hell if you do not believe in Jesus? That is not exactly the way it works. People don’t go to hell because they don’t believe in Jesus, they go to hell because of their sins.  It is true that you do need Jesus to go to heaven.  The Bible said in Romans 3:23, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God”.  The word sin means that we have not live up to the righteous standard set by God.  And in Romans 6:23, the Bibles says, “The wages of sin are death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ”.  In John 3:16, the Bible says, “God loved us so much that he gave his only begotten son, that who ever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

Becoming a Christian

The first step is to realize that you are a sinner by birth; not by choice.   The Bible teachers us that by one-man (Adam) sin entered the world, and death by sin; so death passed upon every human being, because all have sinned, (Romans 5:12).   Everyone have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).    The word all is inclusive of everyone, including you and me.  The Bible further teachers that we were born in sin, (What this means is we were born with Adam sin nature (See Psalms 51:5).
